The purpose of the current business plan – set out in 2008 – was to construct a sufficient and very practical means of –

(a)     funding for the Company in the future, independent of the circumstances of markets (as we read about in the press today), and

(b)     providing tangible benefits to the members themselves – all in a manner achievable within the structure of the Company.

The next six months should see this anticipated future unfold for Mount Rommel.

We planned this to be so, back in August 2008.  We then encountered that long sequence of “approvals”, now behind us;  the site at Glenfine has been inspected to conclude the “As Constructed” procedures.  All next stages involving officials of government we believe to be those marked in regulations as “Operational”.

The Company Directors have come to understand what it takes to gain the necessary approvals to work in the State of Victoria.  Not much “value” can be placed on this knowledge (so costly to acquire) for various reasons.

The more valuable knowledge is unrelated to “approvals”.  It is that “how to” information which we will be generating through the work of producing gold on site, and in demonstrating (to others) how this knowledge might be applied to advantage in other communities.

It seems to me the best plan is to process these Glenfine sands as we set out to do 3 years ago.  As we do this, the future for Mount Rommel will unfold for itself .....

Some pre-planning activity has taken place at Clunes – click here to view.  New drilling is the next step at Clunes, and some further geophysics would assist at Allendale.  These are follow-on activities which can wait until there is fulfilment of our Glenfine purpose.

There are two items on which all Members can rest assured  –

1.       in 2012 the Directors of Mount Rommel will endeavour to find some very practical way to include Members in the procedures of assurance as to gold production.  We are already giving consideration as to how an oversight program might work, now that AGM procedures are concluded, and

2.       when Glenfine gold has stacked up as we all would wish, active search to replace each treated tonne with “new tonnes” is bound to occur.
